Unique Professionals Program
PTC UP is an innovative inclusive postsecondary education program created to provide persons with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to experience career training. Upon successful completion, students will obtain a certificate from PTC UP in their chosen field of study.
Students in PTC UP express a strong desire to acquire a career skill in an inclusive setting, engage in work-based learning opportunities and to learn self-determination skills. The program is located on the Clearwater campus of Pinellas Technical College.

Who Can Apply
Applicants who meet the following criteria will be considered for the PTC UP program:
- A documented intellectual disability
- Exited the K-12 system and at least 18 years old
- Ability to navigate an adult campus, including transportation to and from campus
- Displays a level of social maturity conducive to an adult environment (i.e. employment and educational setting)
- Independently maintains self-care and personal hygiene
- Collaborative partnership between the PTC UP program and parent, guardian or family
- Has a reliable means of communication (smartphone)
- No discipline history and a good attendance record
- Must work with a peer mentor
