Pinellas Technical College-Clearwater is proud to serve those who serve! We are committed to providing dedicated resources and support for active-duty military members, veterans, and their spouses and dependents as they pursue their educational goals. We aim to guide and empower military-connected students every step of the way — from admissions to graduation and beyond.

Military & Veteran Resource Center (MVRC)

The Student Services area in Building 1 currently serves as the Military & Veteran Resource Center (MVRC). This space functions as a welcoming resource hub for military-connected students and their families. Prospective students are encouraged to reach out or stop by for assistance with:

VA educational benefits
Academic and career guidance
Connecting with staff committed to supporting military-connected students.

For current students, the MVRC space offers:

A place to connect with peers
Access to computers
Guidance tailored to military-connected student needs

Priority Registration Note:
Please note that we are a small school with limited seating. Whenever possible, preference is given to military-connected students—just be sure to answer the application question regarding your military status!

Explore & Shadow Programs

Review the full list of PTC Programs to determine which best suits you, then come in for the scheduled time to shadow the program.

Application for Admission

Complete the PTC Application and work through your checklist (ID, transcripts, and required documents). Be sure to answer the application question regarding your military status.

VA Benefits

Review the PTC Veterans’ Benefits page and apply for your Certificate of Eligibility on VA.gov.

Apply for Financial Aid

Military-connected students may also be eligible for federal financial aid and other aid available to the general campus population. Complete the FAFSA (School Code: 005605) to determine eligibility, and then, after 3–5 days, follow up with the Financial Aid Office (727-538-7167, Option 7) for next steps.

Basic Skills Testing

Take the required basic skills test or provide an appropriate exemption. To schedule testing, contact Student Services at 727-538-7167 ext. 2006.

Finalize Enrollment

Once notified of an available seat, complete your enrollment with the School Counselor and VA Certifying Official (Building 1) and pay any remaining fees. Please bring your Certificate of Eligibility letter received from the VA.
